Create Artwork for Screen Print

Welcome to Module Six of our 8-week course! This week, we'll explore screen printing, a widely used printing process. In screen printing, ink is pressed through a mesh screen onto a substrate. We'll also cover how to prepare your artwork and ensure it's error-free for the press operator. Let's get started!

Objectives

At the end of this module, students will be able to:

1. Create visually appealing graphics for a specific substrate. CO3

2. Utilize the design process to problem solve screen print related issues. CO1

3. Understand the screen printing process. CO1

Lesson Instructions

  1. To begin, you need to complete step one, in which you will participate in a discussion about screen printing. You will watch an introduction video on screen printing and complete the assigned reading. Once you have completed step 1, continue to step 2.

  2. Next, you will work your way through chapter 13 in your textbook and complete draft 1 of your two-color personal t-shirt project. 

  3. Lastly, you will complete your two-color personal t-shirt design, turn it in following the instructions provided, and complete the module knowledge check before moving on to Module 6.
